Info
I’m Tom, a 26-year-old writer from Kent, England.
Initially, writing was just a hobby — alongside my English degree, I wrote short-form articles for multidisciplinary platform Original Shift exploring art, culture, fashion and design. Then, throughout my MA, I had the opportunity to work with photographers, editors and graphic designers at an agency, creating content for editorial, e-commerce and PR. It was hard graft — tutoring, writing a dissertation, punching out copy — but it taught me the drive you need to break into the industry.
Fast forward to the present and I have now worked in the fashion industry for 5+ years, progressing from Sub Editor to Senior Product Writer at YOOX NET-A-PORTER. Throughout that time, I’ve continued to ply my trade, writing across a range of physical and digital touchpoints, including product descriptions, brochures, magazines, emails, newsletters, social media, press releases and blogs.
I’ve had my writing in print, with a long-form piece for BASEMENT Magazine entitled Get The Badge In: Stone Island, Terrace Culture and the Glory of the North and digital, with a retrospective on the 1999 Division 1 Playoff final, Party Like It’s 1999, for MUNDIAL. I’ve also self-published a run of excerpts and essays, including a deep dive into one of my favourite archetypes, the cowboy, for Substack.
I’ll never stop writing — even if Andre Iguodala misses the 3 to save us all — so, if you’re interested in me or my work, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Just send an email to tmancini02@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram, @tommancini_ .
